I've always like the English Beat version of "Can't Get Used to Losing You"--I'd never heard the original version that you posted yesterday.......

They do a nice version of this one too....

We are young is a great melody. The high hat was recorded in reverse or stretched with compressor on closes an old George Martin trick. This is a slow beat and I hope this will not be their only hit.

Have always been a big Enya fan, i find that to be a great demo song. Where most of my amplifiers and speakers spend most of their lives just idling along, this tune stretches them out a bit at the other end of their operating range. The VLF content is responsible for some cracked drywall joints and popped screw heads in this house. To properly enjoy this tune at it's full scale and dynamic range you really need to be able to turn this one up to "11".

Yes you are right. It also plays a lot on radio these days. Think I might buy the CD to see how my Altecs render this demo.

Chuck and Keith getting it together. Well, sort of.

Chuck Berry vs Keith Richards! -Hilarious - YouTube
Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.

I'm surprised by the mention of Enya "Orinoco Flow" as a really demanding selection. I have it and enjoy it, but Paula Cole's "Tiger" has a much more demanding bottom end to me than than that or ELP's "Lucky Man" or Heart's "Magic Man." Looking further into some other music I may have in different genres would definitely be in order, and I would guarantee I'd find other very "demanding" tracks.

Somewhere along the trail of life i once read of or heard an interviewer recount asking Jimi Hendrix "what's it like to be the greatest guitarist on earth?", Hendrix' response was "I don't know, you'd have to ask Rory Gallagher".

Here's a few clips that might give us a clue where Hendrix' appreciation of him came from. If you like him, there are several full length concerts on youtube, i tend to like the "whistle test" videos as their audio seems very good.

I love Rory. Here is one of my favorite videos. Actually, if you can find this whole thing, you should pick it up - this particular recording is from a French TV show back in early 80's...

    Rory Gallagher - Bad Penny - Th?atre de l'Empire (Paris) le 29 Mars 1980

A few more of my favs while I'm at it:

Harry James - Ciribiribin - with the very young Sinatra on vocals! Cherry!

Nancy Wilson - Lush Life more expression than a video could ever show

Rush - The Trees - so many songs I love from these guys...but this one is great for sure

WA Mozart - The Salzburg Symphonies - Early composition by the 16yr old genius.

Yes - Long Distance Runaround - what can I say?

Budgie - All at Sea - A very talented, underrated Welsh band. This album sounds incredible through Altecs...Goosebumps.

I know, I cheated by listing too many. But I have very wide tastes in music
